The general budget, as soon as GST will be presented on this date
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will present the country's general budget on February 1 next year. It will be the first general budget of the country after applying Goods and Services Tax (GST). According to a senior official, the budget session of Parliament will start with the speech of President Ramnath Kovind. A joint session of both the departments of Parliament will start on January 30.
The official said that the economic survey is likely to be put in Lok Sabha on January 31 and it is likely to present general budget on its next day. The first general budget was released on February 1 this year by breaking the British-style tradition to show the budget in late February.
It means that if all the budget proposals get permission before the start of the new financial year from April, then the availability of money will be available ahead of time. With this change, the tradition of separating the railway budget is included in the general budget.
